As the student body resumes classes, primarily online due to the health pandemic, the LACC student association spoke on the districtwide resources and urging students in need to come forth.
The Housing Insecurity
The Los Angeles Community College District partnered with several community-based organizations to assist students that are homeless, coach surfing, living in their cars, or housing insecure.
These organizations have safe, clean and accessible beds for community college students.
“The Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges offers scholarships and gift cards for food,” Elias Geronimo, LACCD Student Trustee and Chair of the Student Affairs Committee said.
The arrangement includes food, WiFi and counseling.
If you or someone you know needs a bed, please share this information with them.
