(HOLLYWOOD, Calif.) — Members of the Armenian community took to the streets of Glendale. People of all ages waved flags at passing cars. Drivers reciprocated by blowing their horns in solidarity.
The group gathered at 1515 W. Glenoaks Blvd. At approximately 5:30 PM but did not start moving until about 6:15 PM. The marchers peacefully walked and chanted slogans and songs in the street while locals and local business owners also stood by and cheered them on.
The March stopped at the corner of Glenoaks Blvd, and Alameda. Glendale police patrols blocked the intersection. The protestors set tins filled with sand and candles forming a cross at the intersection. Prayers and speeches were said in Armenian.
The organizers were Harout Aloyan, Heleyna Indzheyan. One of the speakers was Malvina Mkhchian.
